Getting Started with ENTRENCHED WW1

Your first hour on Roblox trench warfare — teams, classes, modes, and what to do after spawn.

Getting Started

ENTRENCHED WW1 is a team-based World War I trench combat game on Roblox, created by Edot and live since August 2019 with ongoing updates. Two factions — Entente and Central Powers — fight across muddy maps defined by trenches, artillery, barbed wire, and class-specific equipment. This guide walks you from installing Roblox to finishing your first meaningful match without guessing what the nine classes or three modes actually do.

Install and join the game

ENTRENCHED runs on PC, mobile, and console through the standard Roblox client. Open Roblox, search for ENTRENCHED WW1, or use the official place page linked from our Wiki hub. Favorite the game so you can rejoin quickly; public servers fill faster during evenings and weekends.

On first launch, allow Roblox to finish asset downloads before queuing a full match. Trench maps load extra geometry — sandbags, wire, and destructible cover — and joining mid-download causes stutter that gets you killed before you orient.

Pick your team: Entente vs Central Powers

Every round starts with a faction choice. Entente and Central Powers are balanced mirrors in most modes; your decision should be based on friends in the lobby, not perceived stat advantages. Stick with one side for the session so you learn its trench layouts and spawn routes.

Trench warfare is positional. New players who wander alone die to machine guns, snipers, and artillery. Spawn with your team, move in short bounds between cover, and treat no-man’s land as lethal until Engineers or teammates create safer lanes. Read Build Fortifications once you understand basic movement from Controls.

The nine classes at a glance

ENTRENCHED ships with nine classes. Each has distinct weapons, tools, and squad value. You can swap at spawn or respawn depending on server rules — check the class menu before the round locks.

ClassRole summary
RiflemanReliable infantry backbone; good default for learning gunfights and trench holds.
SkirmisherMobile flanking and mid-range pressure; punishes isolated defenders.
MedicHealing bandages and revives; see Heal and Revive.
SupportAmmunition resupply for teammates; essential in long Frontline defenses.
AssaultBreaching and close-range clearing with heavier kit.
EngineerBuilds sandbags, wire, and defensive pieces; core to map control.
ReconLong-range spotting and precision fire; information wins artillery duels.
FlamerArea denial and trench clearing; high risk, high terror value.
OfficerLeadership tools and artillery calls; unlocks at rank 5.

Rank progression and Officer unlock

ENTRENCHED uses a rank system earned through play. Most classes are available immediately, but Officer unlocks at rank 5. Officers coordinate pushes and call off-map artillery — mechanics covered in Call Artillery. Until you reach rank 5, practice Rifleman or Support so you understand timing, ammo economy, and trench geometry when you finally lead.

Ranks also signal experience to teammates. Low-rank players who listen and stay on objective contribute more than high-rank players who feed alone into wire.

Learn the three game modes early

Do not treat every queue the same. Each mode has different win conditions:

  • Frontline — Turn-based attack and defense; attackers push before time expires, defenders stall and counter.
  • Conquest — Perpetual attack versus defense; attackers must capture all objectives, not just the front line.
  • Domination — King-of-the-hill control of a central zone; holding the hill matters more than wide flanks.

Your first five to ten hours should skew toward Frontline public servers. The alternating rounds teach when to push and when to dig in — skills that transfer everywhere else.

First-match checklist

Use this sequence every time until it becomes habit:

  1. Read the mode and map name in the lobby so you know whether you are attacking or defending.
  2. Pick a beginner-friendly class — Rifleman or Medic — before experimenting with Flamer or Recon.
  3. Follow the largest friendly cluster toward the marked objective; loners die first.
  4. Use cover between moves; standing in no-man’s land is how veterans farm kills.
  5. Watch the kill feed and chat for artillery warnings and officer callouts.
  6. Swap class on respawn if your squad lacks Medics, Support, or Engineers.

After the match, note what killed you most. Artillery? Push Call Artillery to understand strike patterns. Bleeding out unrevived? Read Heal and Revive.

What ENTRENCHED does not have

There is no official promo code redemption system in ENTRENCHED. Websites and videos promising free skins or currency through code boxes are misleading. Our Codes page documents this so you do not waste time. Progress comes from matches, ranks, and mechanical skill — not expired social-media strings.

Similarly, be cautious with third-party Scripts; automation can violate Roblox terms and get accounts moderated. Stick to legitimate play while learning.

Where to go next on the wiki

Once you finish a handful of matches, deepen specific skills instead of re-reading generic tips:

  • Controls — Platform-specific inputs for PC, mobile, and console.
  • Build Fortifications — Engineer building and team defensive setups.
  • Updates — Patch changes that may alter weapons or maps.
  • Wiki — Official links and community resources.

ENTRENCHED rewards patience and coordination more than raw reflexes. Learn the trenches, respect your Medics, and feed your Support ammo — your win rate climbs once the fundamentals in this guide become muscle memory.
